Sports Injury does not just affect elite athletes. Recreational athletes may be incapacitated by a sports injury, or at very least unable to participate in their chosen activity. Injury can also affect employability. Indeed, even sedentary individuals may suffer from sprains, tendon injuries, soft tissue pain etc!

At POSIC we have expertise both in sports medicine, and if surgery is required, comprehensive experience in the appropriate surgery.

Members of POSIC have for many years provided the local professional sports clubs with orthopaedic support, particularly Plymouth Argyle, Plymouth Albion and Plymouth Raiders. We have also in the past looked after Launceston RFC and Truro City.

Past patients of ours have gone on to play professional rugby in The Aviva Premiership, following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction surgery. One previous patient won a Commonwealth Gold Medal within six weeks of arthroscopic knee surgery, having been unable to train prior to her operation!

We work closely with Physiotherapy colleagues, in order to try to treat injuries non-operatively, and to maximise the speed and benefits of rehabilitation post operatively.

We also have very close working relationships with specialist Radiologists, allowing POSIC to offer you rapid and accurate diagnosis of sports injury problems.
