I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interest in knee, foot and ankle surgery. I have a substantive NHS appointment at South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (Torbay Hospital) and I also undertake NHS clinics at Tavistock and Kingsbridge Hospitals.
At The Plymouth Nuffield Hospital I undertake both private and NHS work.

I was initially appointed as a Consultant in Plymouth in 1998 and I have pioneered many aspects of modern foot and ankle surgery in Plymouth including ankle arthroscopy, arthroscopic ankle fusion, scarf osteotomy for bunions and treatment of complex foot and ankle fractures. I introduced arthroscopic ACL reconstruction to Plymouth in 1998 and was one of the first surgeons in the South West to routinely perform this procedure as day cases by 2001. For the last ten years I have provided orthopaedic support for both Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Albion

My current practice covers all aspects of adult foot and ankle surgery, including complex fusions, joint reconstructions, sports injuries, ankle replacements and management of both rheumatoid and diabetic feet. I have considerable experience in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, cruciate ligament reconstruction, osteotomy and knee replacement including medial and lateral uni-compartmental replacement.

I qualified from The London Hospital in 1984. My years as a junior doctor were spent in The Royal Navy where I served at sea in HMS Andromeda, Scylla, Ark Royal and Invincible. I deployed with 3 Cdo Brigade to Northern Iraq after the Gulf War of 2001 (Operation Haven).

I live just outside Plymouth and am married with two teenage boys.My hobbies include watching my boys play rugby and cricket, chopping logs, sailing and cooking.
